They May Look Like Vacationers, But They Are Refugees
Imshin writes from Tel Aviv:
Our next door neighbor saw an old friend on TV the other night. He’d just lost his home to a direct hit of a rocket. She managed to contact him and invited him and his family to stay.
Yesterday, channel 10 interviewed refugees in Eilat, some of them living in tents on the beach. One woman said her kids think they’re on holiday.
Do you know how hot it is in a tent in Eilat right now? But I suppose better hot from the Eilat sun than dead from a direct hit. This sounds a bit whiny but it isn’t and the interviewees weren’t. They were funny and happy-go-lucky. Good for them.
On my blog, An Unsealed Room, I also wrote about the displaced people from the north who have come to my town of Ra’anana. It’s a bit crowded, but we are happy to have them with us.
