Sometimes The Only Thing Harder Than Hearing Bad News Is Not Hearing It

Israel is a small country, so it was no great secret today that something bad was happening up north. But military considerations made it impossible to let the full story out till the evening, and Tafka PP explains how that feels:

So apparently, there *is* such a thing worse than a gag order on the most horrendous day of Israeli casualties thus far:

A gag order which everyone knows about.

Everyone is screaming inside: You can see it in the eyes of the newscasters, the people you pass in the street. You can hear it on the radio in the voices of the DJs and the announcers. We all know there’s been a tragedy, but for many reasons, all far beyond my realm of understanding, we’re not allowed to discuss anything for fear of censure.

I’m going back to hyperventilating now.
