Two Birds. One Stone.
How to help children sitting in bomb shelters in the north while helping myself…
I bumped into a friend last night at the gym who told me that her daughter’s scout group is collecting toys and puzzles to bring to the kids in the north, who are obviously bored out of their minds by now.
It’s a great motivator to get my children, who are lucky enough to be safe, to clear out their closets of the excess they never use but have refused to get rid of till now. How many games and puzzles do we really need….and birthday party season will be upon us soon enough and we’ll get resupplied.
There’s a big pile of toys and games in my house right now.
I think I’m going to go to the store and buy a big supply of art supplies as well. I can just imagine what it’s like for the parents in those shelters. The real nightmare must be where the television service has broken down. There was a story on the news that the cable and satellite companies aren’t going up and doing repairs because they don’t want to put their technicians in danger.
