Hey, Kids, Let’s Put on a Roadshow!

War or peace, the Israeli hi-tech engine just keeps chugging along. Ouriel takes note of a new event that has just been announced to bring the Middle East’s Silicon Valley westward to the real thing:
Israel is the size of a French department (although on the news it sounds bigger than the US), so it is clear: if you are an internet (or high tech) start up, you can’t make it locally and have to export yourself.
All israeli entrepreneurs know that since day1. The US market is the target. A few israeli internet companies have managed to make it there (Shopping.com is one of them) But then comes the question: how do we get there? How can we manage? Specially with so much competition.
Israeli Internet is waking up for sure. And you might ask yourself how to get a chance to make it. So unless you know a great VC or have a fantastic US network here s something that should be of interest for you.
The California Israel Chamber of Commerce and the Consulate General of Israel Economic Mission in San Francisco are announcing a special “Israel Internet Technology Road Show to the Silicon Valley” scheduled for November 6-10, 2006 and held in conjunction with Web 2.0 Conference in San Francisco.
The purpose of this road show is to expose Israeli companies to the Valley’s Internet landscape, its industry and investment community. During the road show startup delegates will meet with leading US companies in the internet space among them: Yahoo!, Adobe, eBay, Amazon, Google, Microsoft and more. In addition to one-on-one meetings, companies will participate in special briefings, dinners and panels hosted by industry leaders, analysts and investors discussing future trends and opportunities in the Internet space.
