Jon-Benet WHO?
Many Israelis have expressed utter astonishment at exactly which story has knocked the Mideast strife off the top of the headlines in the United States.

Simply Jews cites this CNN report with tongue in cheek:
“A suspect in the 1996 death of 6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey arrived early Monday on a flight from Thailand to the United States, where he will be questioned by investigators.
Karr sat in business class for the 15-hour flight and dined on pat?© and prawns, drinking a beer and French chardonnay, The Associated Press reported.”
WTF? Not a word about his bowel movements?

Never mind that. I don’t usually watch the Fox channel (note the disclaimer) but I was watching one of their news programs last night. It was supposedly about the Middle East, yet half the program was devoted to breaking developments in the Karr story: that he was flying first class…what he was eating for snacks…that he’d been looking into a sex change operation in Thailand…that he had two hours left before landing…
They introduced the program, interrupted the program several times, and pre-empted an interview with an anti-Hezbollah Arab activist—just for this. It was a parody of American television news.
Well, maybe not a parody. I usually don’t watch TV news. Maybe it’s like this all the time. Well, thank heaven they didn’t let something as trivial as the Middle East and terrorism interrupt the compelling story of JonBenet’s alleged killer. Mustn’t miss out.
I agree. All eyes must be on what is going on in the Middle East, because a lot will be decided by the outcome of what goes on there right now. Many things to affect all humanity.
Besides, although this is a terrible thing that has happened to an innocent child, what about all the innocent children who have suffered or died, or who will suffer and die through all this strife???
