It’s About Time

It’s been many months since this was pointed out as a major problem. It sure has taken a long time to get a government bureaucracy to change one word.

Good news for Israelis headed to the United States: The new Israeli driver’s license issued Tuesday will be valid for private vehicles in all US states, and an international license will no longer be needed.

Gideon Siterman, director-general of the Ministry of Transport, explained Tuesday that the new license will be titled “Driving License” as oppose to “Driving Permit.” Israeli driving licenses have so far been issued under the title “Driving Permit,” and US authorities would not acknowledge the documentation because of it being a permit, not a license.
