Post Yom Kippur medical roundup

October 4, 2006 - 8:22 AM by

Report from the Red Magen David (emergency services), as reported in the Jerusalem Post:

1,783 people treated in Israel, of which:
65 fainted from hunger
98 women went into labor
1 woman gave birth at home
195 children injured on bicycles, skates, rollerblades, skateboards

(Considering how many millions of people were fasting on Monday or playing on the streets, I’d say these statistics are not bad.)

Also: “MDA reminds the public to donate blood, which runs short during holiday vacations. Call 1-800-400-101 for information.”

Hat tip: Matt, who says “I felt like I was going to be one of those 65 during the last hour but I made it.”
