The Power of a Young Boy’s Tears

Dudu couldn’t hold back the tears. As embarrassing as it is for a 13 year old to cry in public, let alone on national television, the boy from the bombarded town of Sderot shared his pain with the country. He had looked forward to and prepared for his Bar Mitzvah when all of a sudden, without any prior warning, he broke into heartfelt tears. He had held back the tears for several minutes until he could no longer keep the dam from bursting. “I am afraid no one will come,” he said in desperation.

This Ynet article tells Dudu’s story, how his heartbreak turned to ecstasy as the whole country responded to his plight.

Dudu’s Bar Mitzvah celebration took place at the Kazablan banquet hall located in Sderot’s industrial area.

Cars from all over the country made their way to the abandoned ghost town. People who couldn’t remain indifferent to Dudu’s plight came to Sderot from far and wide to celebrate with the Hadad family. It appeared as if no Qassam rocket could have stopped the people of Israel flocking to celebrate Dudu’s Bar Mitzvah.

You are not alone, Dudu was told by hundreds of people whom he had never met. They hugged him, showered him with gifts, sat around the family’s table and shook the hands of the city’s residents. They had their pictures taken together just like one big family: The police commissioner, Knesset members, artists, singers, and media people – they were all there.

  2. And who does Dudu have to thank? The paralyzed Israeli government that finally collapsed and surrendered to terrorism this week.

It is a a disgrace of immoral proportions how a weakling such as Olmert has lost his nerve and cowers, by sacrificing Jewish livelihoods as he refrains from acting.

According to Olmert, the lives of enemy civilians [and lets not forget the terrorists themselves as he calls them to tell that Israeli jets are on the way] are more important.

Israel has lost its moral compass. It is embracing a “turn the other face” un-Jewish immorality. What happens when this is done? The other side of the face is slapped and youy get your ass kicked.

Where are the Raful Eitans and Arik Sharons of Israel? They are all dead.

Israel is losing the war against the enemy because it has lost its moral compass of putting Israel first.

  6. David, I am sorry but your “Blood & Iron” rhetoric, like Pat Buchanon’s rants sound much better in the original German!

Thanks for this post, as long as Israel responds like this whenever even a few of its people are in peril, believe the country will be okay.

  8. Oh, David, for the record, I believe it was a Jew that came up with the concept of “turning the other check”!

  10. It was also a Jew who gave the world communism – simply being Jewish and coming up with irrational, immoral ideas does not make the ideas proper.

I grew up on a kibbutz as a kid with bullets thudding into the Childrens house on many nights. I remember having to be rushed down into bomb shelters for nights on end, as the spiritual heirs of Hitler tried to destroy us.

I also remember as a teenager providing Israeli paratroopers as they returned from action in the middle of the night, with hot coffee and food.

My Kibbutz through the years has lost many sons against the enemy.

So carry on defending the enemy, and when they come to get you, tell them how much you have cared for them.

I am sure the Nasrallahs and Ahmahdnejihad will tell you that you are a “good Jew” before exterminating you.

And again, you have as usual no retort, but merely silly emotionalism to counter me. Why? Because I am correct.

With Jews like you – there would be no Israel.
