My heart is in the Far East, but I am in the W . . . uh, the Middle East

For anyone wondering how to celebrate the Chinese New Year (on Feb. 18) in Israel, the author of fiLi’s World — an Israeli with a special place in his heart for all things Asian — fills us in:
Me? Being still very far away from Asia, I found out I have 3 options, which all sound great:
1. The Chinese loving Israelis from the “China culture and language” are meeting up. Details here.
2. The Chinese embassy is holding a formal Chinese new year celebration at the Chinese embassy.
3. The Tiawanese are having a get-together on Chinese new year for the Taiwanese staying in Israel.Donno, a tough one. I will probably head to meet the other Israelis, and maybe drop by either the Taiwan/China office/embassy on the way there.

Happy Year of the (decidedly not kosher, but we won’t split hairs) boar!
