Rainy Days

Former London Girl has a funny post about the effect all this rain is having on life in Tel Aviv. An exerpt:
Israelis also don’t know how to work umbrellas. They know umbrellas are supposed to keep off the rain, but they don’t get that umbrellas don’t work when it’s very windy. And it’s very windy indeed. On the streets, you see old ladies with golf umbrellas turned upside down and inside out from the wind, being blown along. Men pointlessly holding tattered and torn rags on the skeletons of former umbrellas above their heads. People accidentally putting up umbrellas inside buses.
We also have sporadic internet, as, apparently, does everyone in Israel who has ADSL (although this I find hard to believe), because Bezeq have been hit by lightning. And, apparently, they don’t have backup or something. Because, you know. Why would they? Have backup? In case? They get hit? By lightning?
