i heart thee
Valentine’s Day is upon us and ‘oer here in these parts, Hallmark doesn’t even blip on the radar. What does, however, are gourmet sweet shops flowing with heart shaped chocolate truffles, white bark, heart shaped boxes lined with assorted prailines and bittersweets…heaven.
Restaurants are running dinner specials and storefront windows decorated with cupids and bright red hearts beckon browsers.
Over at israelli (is it me or is that name curiously similar to this here blog’s…? never mind) they’ve noted Israel flower industry figures: a whopping 125 million flowers are being exported to Europe for the swooners among us. Now that’s love!
And while we’re on the subject, the whole Saint thing is apparently tenuous. Yes there was a saint called Valentine but did he inspire chocolate and flowers? Probably not. Who cares, eh? As long as there’s enough to go around. Vive La Love!
