Israel is a looks-conscious society; anyone in doubt need only hang out at a local Castro Outlet or the Ramat Aviv Mall to verify that one. Workout trainers, hair stylists, cosmeticians and increasingly plastic surgeons are friends or at the very least, Blackberry fixtures.

Which is why last week’s Hebrew article on high ranking, high profile women choosing to make a fashion statement by going grey – including Prime Minister Olmert’s wife Aliza – is so very intriguing.
