A first-of-its-kind mixed Arab/Jewish kindergarten is slated to open next year in Beer Sheba, according to this (Hebrew) article.

Named “Hagar” by the Arab-Israeli founders because Hagar (Genesis) symbolizes “suffering caused by the sins of the parents”, the kindergarten will operate on a Hebrew/Arabic bi-lingual basis.

Head of Beer Sheba’s education and sports division Dudi Lifschitz said he’s impressed with efforts on the part of parents and organizers to expose children to the realities of the city’s (and country’s) bi-cultural environment.
