Offspring in the Making
Gene pools are for passing along, are they not? Purists of one sort or another might claim it’s the reason we’re here on this grand earth.
But when you’re an assassin who targeted a prime minister and you’re serving a life sentence, should you still be allowed to be fruitful and multiply?

Yigal Amir, Former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin’s assassin, fought a lengthy court battle for the right to “partner” with his new bride, Larissa Trembovler. Trembovler, an Amir moral supporter who visited him in jail and corresponded with him via mail throughout the years, abandoned her husband and a teaching career due to her ties with Amir.
The two were married in 2004 via a religious loophole that allows alliance “via messenger” i.e. power of attorney i.e. Amir’s dad. Still with me? Good.
They then won a court battle to allow procreation rights. No details here about how the actual coupling took place. Icks me to think ’bout it. But guess who’s with child, according to press reports?
Bless…(NOT)
I just don’t get it. Call me biased – and I am because ten years later I still pass the Tel Aviv assassination spot and get a lump in my throat – but this guy targeted and killed a prime minister. He took away Rabin’s Saturday tennis sessions, visits with grandchildren and discourse with wife Leah.
In my humble opinion, Amir shouldn’t be allowed to pass GO or collect anything. Marriage, sex or otherwise.
