Searching for a Name

March 21, 2007 - 12:00 PM by

With yesterday’s official announcement – last summer’s Lebanon conflict was indeed a war – came the concommittant call for an official name for the war.

This is not funny by any stretch of the imagination. Not for grieving families, still-in-hospital soldiers, displaced families or those who question the government’s strategy or lack of therein.

In a backhanded sort of way, however, Benji over at What War Zone questions attempts at naming the war.

“I’m kind of partial to the name Myrtle,” writes Benji. But maybe, he goes on to write, they should check out other names here (link to Babycenter.com Popular Baby Names omitted).

“How many of my tax shekels went to this?” ….meaning the committee, the name search, etc. etc. Damned straight. More from Benji here
