Disappointing Draw

The much talked about/highly anticipated Israel-England football (soccer) match ended up as a disappointment to fans and players: zip zip for both teams.

Bummer & lots of pressure on England coach Steve Mclaren to perform on Wednesday in Barcelona if they want to qualify for 2008 championships.

But back to the interesting bit: The English fans. Things went pretty well considering the volume of beer that flowed through Israel’s taps over the past few days. Carlsberg provided 10,000 liters of beer for a welcoming party at Tel Aviv’s Ha’Yarkon Park on Friday and the Herzliya hotel housing England’s team doubled their beer stores in anticipation of the team’s arrival.

And yet, no outlandish violence to speak of. How nice. Come back and visit real soon, ya’ hear?
