Ready for WNBA

When Shay Doron was ten, her dream was to play for New York Liberty.
It’s looking like it might happen; Doron was drafted by Liberty during pre-season draft camp and if she makes it through, she’ll be on her way AND she’ll be the first Israeli in the WNBA .
“I definitely think I’m ready for the WNBA,” Shay Doron told press after being drafted by the New York Liberty.
Doron, born in a suburb of Tel Aviv and raised in New York – she went to “Christ the King High School” hee hee – plays guard.
Last year Doron led University of Maryland to the NCAA title, scoring sixteen points during the game and being named MVP by ESPN.

Doron won’t be the first Israeli to play in the WNBA. Mila Nikolich played briefly for The Houston Comets in 1999.
