…is Pope Benedict’s message to Christians and the world this Easter 2007.

Here in Israel, the Christian Holy Week wraps up today with Easter celebrations in Jerusalem’s Old City where thousands of visitors will follow the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, reputedly the site where Jesus was crucified, buried and resurrected.

In a tradition dating back almost a millenium, a Muslim family unlocks the church doors the day prior to Easter (that way the politics of “which sect is the rightful keeper of the keys” stays outta the picture) and Pilgrims file past the site of Christ’s tomb, light candles and recite prayers to mark the celebrated resurrection.

As I wrote prior toGood Friday, if you have a chance to get thineself on up to Jersualem to the Holy Sepulchre today, it’s worth the visit.
