Israeli author Amos Oz (In the Land of Israel, A Perfect Peace, etc.) has been nominated for the prestigious Man Booker International Prize for Literature.

Oz, an advocate of a two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, has written 18 books in Hebrew and over 450 essays. He won Germany’s prestigious Goethe Prize for his life’s work in 2005 (past recipients include Sigmund Freud and Thomas Mann).
Booker Prize nominees this year include Margaret Atwood, Salman Rushdie and Doris Lessing. A winner will be announced in June.
