Weeded Out
How in the heck did a rabbinical school get into the plot line of Showtime’s Weeds which centers around a single mom making ends meet by selling marijuana?

Beats me. If I knew I wouldn’t be sitting in my modest Tel Aviv apartment typing this entry, would I?
Whatever spurred Weeds’ writers to bring in the rabbinical school element also spurred casting directors to find the right actress to fill the slot of Yael Hoffman, the “sexy, provocative Israeli rabbinical school administrator”. The actress in this case turned out to be Israeli Meital Dohan.
“It’s a really funny role,” Dohan explained of her part in the series. “But it’s also got real depth. And the (creators) brought a wonderful cynical and sarcastic element to her character. (Yael) was a combination of seductive, crazy, and spiritual, and it was great to show a three dimensional character, especially when so many people think Israelis are all just soldiers. I loved bringing a character to life that wasn’t an Israeli cliche. This was a refreshing point of view.”
Read all about it here. But does the school administrator buy weed from the single mom to help her out? That’s what I want to know.

Meital is an incredibly sexy actress. You have to see her in her new show Woke Up Dead, where she plays Aurora, a hot zombie. You can find out more about her show at:
