Move over Madonna, Demi and Kabbalah: The latest, greatest Jewish-appeal concept to hit the market is “Secrets of the Jewish Mind”.

Yesterday’s Hebrew press carried a story about the Foreign Ministry Department for Culture and Scientific Affairs receiving numerous requests from various organizations and institutions the world over who are interested in learning “how to think like the Jews.”

To meet the demand, the department approached author Eran Katz, who wrote Jerome Becomes a Genius (Secret of the Jewish Mind). The book makes recommendations on how to improve intellectual capability as well as memory based on a methods developed from Jewish ritual.

After dealing with the subject, Katz was sent in recent weeks by the Foreign Ministry to speak abroad, among other places in Japan, Singapore and Korea. His next trip is to China and there are also requests from Thailand, Holland and Italy. His book has been translated into seven languages, and he has spoken about 1,000 times on the subject all over the world.

Steph’s Advice: Wanna think Jewish? Question everything twice – make that three times -, argue your point to the bitter end and confuse your opponent by offering to pick up the tab. Stam.

A hefty Congratulations to Oded Balilty of Associated Press on winning a Pulitzer Prize for the image you see here of a lone settler holding off police at the February 2006 Amonah evacuation.

“I’m in shock,” Balilty responded to the news. “I didn’t expect to win so this is a huge surprise.” The image has won ten other international prizes but the Pulitzer…..E’nuff said.

This little tidbit from Life in Israel is nice.

A former Health Minister touring one of the country’s hospitals somehow got stuck in a “padded wing”.

When he tried to get help…

“I am the Minister of Health and got lost, please help me out”.
The nurses responded to him that he should sit down right there, all these other people also claim they are all sorts of ministers…
