Hello Hollywood

Israel’s Yediot Hebrew daily reports that in the coming year several large-budget films, including a $40 million production based on Jesus’ life, are set to be filmed on location in Israel.

Good News Holdings’ Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt will begin shooting for 90 days in October. Brush those teeth and comb your hair; talent scouts will be looking for “dozens” of Israelis to play extras in the film based upon the Anne Rice novel of the same name about Jesus’ growing up years in the Galilee.

Adam Resurrected – based on Yoram Kaniuk’s bestseller – stars Willem Dafoe and Jeff Goldblum and begins shooting in Israel during the summer. The story is about a Holocaust era circus performer’s life in an asylum for survivors post-WWII.

And Adam Sandler, as we noted last month, will come over in the summer to film his role as a Mossad agent (!!) in the comedy (ohhhh) You Don’t Mess with the Zohan.

Well this’ll all bring a nice little fiscal trickle to town won’t it?
