Cringe Cringe

I understand and empathize with the fact that Teapacks, Israel’s delegation to the Eurovision song contest, is none too happy with

1) nearly being banned from the competition
2) supposed “censorship” now that they’re there.

But here’s my take: Boyz: Behave. Or I’ll send someone to Helsinki to collectively smack you all and send you to the corner for a time out.

This is not an EU Summit on proposed anti-Israel legislation. It’s the E-U-R-O-V-S-I-O-N – Deux points, kitsch outfits, make that horrible outfits, usually horrible music and this should be FUN!

Cut it out with boycott threats, making noise and garnering attention.

Following their second rehearsal for Thursday’s Eurovision song competition, members of Teapacks band were angry. In a press conference held following the rehearsal, they accused the organizers of attempting to significantly change the video art clip that is supposed to be featured in the background, reducing number of cameras from ten cameras to one and changing the lighting…..

A meeting between the head of the Israeli team, Yoav Giani, Teapacks and the Eurovision’s management was held Saturday afternoon in an attempt to reach a compromise. “It was a positive, productive meeting. I believe the Finns are genuinely trying to bridge the gap,” Giani said.

This is Finland we’re talking about guys (!). Granted, the pictured band represented the country in last year’s song contest but still…It’s FINLAND! They’re not the ones planning to “push the button”. Relax. Live a little. Go out, drink some schnapps and eat some herring. You’ll feel better. Promise.

(& so will we)
