When I lived in San Francisco, the expression “It’s all good” was popular.

As in: Man, I missed the train and didn’t make it to the job interview
It’s all good, a friend would reply. A better job must be on the horizon.

Or: Man I’m sorry for forgetting to invite you to the party. How can I make it up to you?
It’s all good. No worries. I needed to practice didgeradoo anyway

Of course, we ALL know that sometimes it’s NOT all good. But the irony is that the “not all good” can eventually be shaped into all good. I.e. the optimists say that with time even the worst scenario can evolve into a beneficial outcome. It’s a philosophical argument.

And exactly where is this rant headed?

Tomorrow is All Good Day or Good Deeds Day, sponsored by the Ruach Tova or “Good Spirit” organization.

Help your neighbor take out the trash. Give a friend a lift to work. Help a stranger carry groceries to his/her car. Offer the neighborhood homeless guy some home baked cookies or a sandwich.

“We want everyone to wake up in the morning and ask how they can help their neighbor, a new immigrant and the entire Israeli society”, says “Ruach Tova” chairman Rafi Elul. “We aspire to establish volunteerism on a national level and to understand that each of us, and not just the very wealthy, can help others. ”
