Travel Reflections

Liza recently visited family in the U.S.

And as she “decompresses” back to life in Israel, she is reflecting about some of her encounters during travels. One in particular, with a religious Christian extremely pro-Israel guy the seat over on an Atlanta to Sarasota flight, is described here:

As a result of his religious beliefs, I actually found him to be more “pro-Israel” than many of the Israelis I know, and certainly more in favor of many of Israel’s policies than I am. Despite his unwavering attitude that Israel could seemingly do no wrong, it was more than a little refreshing to meet someone who “got it”, someone who didn’t force me to defend my country, someone who understood that Israelis are not warmongering aggressors out to take over the region, and that neighboring countries are not simply innocent victims of Israeli aggression, that the situation is far more complex than many would have you believe.

It does tend to be a tiring challenge, doesn’t it?

Welcome back, big L.
