Scarified
When Matt and Jen of Hatikvah Blog took off on a road trip, they wrote about it. From renting a car to encountering peacocks to seeing tanks and humvees en route.
They also encountered this sign.

??????
The closest thing I can come up with for that nuts-of-a-Hebrew-to-English translation is: “Uneven Pavement” (because it’s fer sure not “Scarified” whatever that means)
Happy travels.

Scarify (v.)
1 : to make scratches or small cuts in (as the skin)
2 : to lacerate the feelings of
3 : to break up, loosen, or roughen the surface of (as a field or road)
But yeah, having to open Webster to figure out what a road sign means doesn’t say much about usability.
Right. I can see it now. Talking to the car GPS system: “Quick! Quick! Look up “Scarified”…Let’s just say it isn’t the ideal word that could’ve been used in this particular situation.
