The Jellyfish is Stinging

“I haven’t worn a suit since my Bar Mitzvah!” Israeli film writer/director Etgar Keret told press after winning the award for best debut director at the Cannes Film Festival yesterday.
Keret co-directed “Jellyfish” – a film about three women’s lives in Tel Aviv – (Medusot in Hebrew) with his wife, actress Shira Geffen.
The film did well at Cannes, taking the Young Critics Award and The French Artist and Writers Guild SACD best directors award.
“This is a dream,” Geffen said at a press conference after receiving the award. “I feel like I’m in a reality show,” Keret added.
Well sorta. But it’s reality reality. With glitter.
