Strike with Force

YNet is running a story on a former Palestinian informer who advises Israel to pound Gaza relentlessly if they want rocket hits to stop.

Suliman Qadia,a former Gaza refugee camp resident, now lives in Sderot because after years of giving Israel’s Shin Bet insider information on goings-on in Gaza, he fled for his own safety. That sort of arrangement – the information giving part – goes on all the time and according to the article he’s not the only Palestinian transplant to Sderot of his ilk.

What surprises me is: 1) he allows his name & photo to be circulated with the story 2) he admits that going public with his story may jeopardize family members still living in Gaza 3) he/his family weren’t guaranteed safety in return for information sharing.

But those questions border on political and who knows what type deal he had?

“It’s only getting worse and with no end in sight, unfortunately I see no real leadership here, it’s every man for himself. Nothing else will work, we just need to go into Gaza, full force, and pound them, erase them completely, until it’s over. That’s the only language they understand and believe me – I know what I’m talking about. After all, I lived with them.”
