Safed. The holy city home of religion and mysticism. The “almost” getaway home of one Esther aka Madonna Louise Ciccone Ritchie (what ever happened to her home buying plan?)

The city is also soon to be the home of the plushy/pampery ultra-modern mikvah cum spa.

Need a manicure? Head on down to the mikvah. Hair cut while you’re waiting your turn? Step right up.

The powers that be in Safed decided the ritual bath can be much much more than a place for a quick stop in. So, with the blessing and blueprint planning of Rabbi Elazar Kenig, the modern facility is being built to accommodate the Upper Galilee female population and will include wheelchair and special needs access.

What’s in store? A hair salon, cosmetics boutique, fine creams & hot towels for patrons, beauty treatments, fancy shmancy showers and a special pool for women with physical limitations.

“Our wish is to enhance health,” Rabbi Kenig told press. “We wanted to turn the mikvah into a modern and comfortable place people enjoy visiting.”
