Pleased as Punch
War on the horizon? No problem. Iran stockpiling nuclear weapons? Fine. Dangerously hot summer coming up? It’s a breeze.
Apparently this is the internal belief held by most Israelis.
A poll released by Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics shows that despite the tension and seemingly rough life in these parts, 83% of Israelis are satisfied and even very satisfied with their lives. Do I dare write “happy”?
Naw. Why tempt fate?
According to the poll…
- 97% of the ultra-orthodox community is satisfied or very satisfied with their lives
- 86% of religious people are …same
- 85% of seculars are …you know
Within the Jewish population, 86% are content with their work compared to 71% within the Arab sector.
53% are okay with their incomes.
Regarding the future, 52% of Israelis believe that their lives will improve in the coming years.
