One minute you have the Winograd Commission as a harbinger of doom vis a vis last summer’s Lebanon war, the population at large doubting leadership, speculation over another looming war and certainty that for a veeeeeerrrrryyyyy looooooooooooong time there won’t be a hope in purgatory of talks with the Palestinians.

And then Olmert gets a chance to clear his name, potential for talks opens up, and Israeli models are getting front page cover in New York.
