Blogference: Here versus There

We all know that in different places things tend to differ. Big duh… Doubly apply that rule if the different place in question is Israel.


Lizrael update attended this week’s Blogference held in Herzeliya and noted several major differences between a conference of this ilk were it to be held in her homeland, the U.S. of A.

I can only assume that these are the top ten ways a blogging conference is different in Israel than in my motherland: (a few of the choicer bits)

- Every session requiring the use of simple technology (a laptop and PowerPoint, nevermind internet) starts 15 minutes late.

- “Is this session in English or Hebrew?”

- Free coffee, tea and sesame biscuits

- An F-16 flying overhead, freaking out the American guest speakers.

- Israelis dressed up as Americans dressed down
