Naomi in Bulgaria

Bulgaria’s “American Idol” knock-off program asked competitors to choose a song from a foreign country in a foreign tongue..

Preslava Peycheva (featured here) chose Israeli poet Naomi Shemer’s Eucalyptus Grove, written in 1963. I personally think the rendition is lovely as do the critics who are calling it possibly the most beautiful version of the song ever sung…Preslava captured 3rd place in the finals.

Thanks, Allison, for the heads up.
