Bulgaria’s “American Idol” knock-off program asked competitors to choose a song from a foreign country in a foreign tongue..
Preslava Peycheva (featured here) chose Israeli poet Naomi Shemer’s Eucalyptus Grove, written in 1963. I personally think the rendition is lovely as do the critics who are calling it possibly the most beautiful version of the song ever sung…Preslava captured 3rd place in the finals.
