Dinner with a Director

On the evening of July 3, I had the opportunity to dine not only with a group of amazing American bloggers, but with director Eytan Fox. Since arriving in Israel a year ago, I’ve attempted to gain as much ground as I could in the field of Israeli popular entertainment. I’ve read issues upon issues of P’Nai Plus (Israel’s “People” of sorts), listened to as many Hadag Nachash CD’s as I could stand, and have seen all of the Eytan Fox films. To say I was thrilled to be attending this dinner would be an understatement.

During their day, the bloggers were able to watch half of “The Bubble,” Fox’s most recent film. About half of the bloggers asked me to tell them how it ended (but I would not say a word). Not only was Eytan Fox willing to answer any and all questions about his films (which include “Walk on Water,” and “Yossi and Jagger”), Eytan Fox even surprised us by inviting along Ohad Knoller. Knoller appeared in two of Fox’s films: “The Bubble” and “Yossi and Jagger.”

Fox and his partner, Gal Uchovsky, recently arrived back in Israel after releasing “The Bubble” in France. “The Bubble” will be opening in the United States this fall.
