A Moment for a Life

I can’t even imagine what it’s like for loved ones when a person is abducted or goes missing. And I won’t go there because getting into the emotional states of parents or siblings or wives or husbands left behind is an overwhelming topic for this forum.

I WILL say that a friend whose father was one of Argentina’s Los Desaparecidos, recounted how her father’s parents didn’t move house for twenty years because they feared that should their son (her father) return some day, he wouldn’t know where to find them.

A year ago, Israeli soldiers Ehud Goldwasser, Eldad Regev and Gilad Shalit were abducted by operatives sparking the summer war between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon. All three are still missing.

In a show of protest against the continued captivity, numerous Israeli websites – Google, YNet, and MSN among them – went offline for five minutes on Thursday to mark the abduction anniversary.

Details here. Thanks, Jew School for the update.

Come home boys.
