Win Win
Remember the bread strike?
The one that had bread bakers refusing to produce the government subsidized rye and white brands unless the government agreed to raise prices? To which the politicals responded with: Nope. Can’t do that to the people who need the discounted rate..?
Well it’s over. They held out – the bread bakers, that is – and won.
This story sez Israel’s government agreed to raise subsidized prices by 12.5%. Which means that if a loaf went for $2.00 last month, it’ll now go for $2.25.

Sounds drastic but it’s not all doom and gloom for the financially strapped. Because the government also voted to offset the price hike by adding $$ to monthly government allowances for the people who get social security allotments.
Pass the butter.
