The day has passed and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows is on sale at Steimatzky’s throughout Israel. The Steimatzsky’s on Ben-Yehuda Street in Jerusalem sold all 150 pre-ordered copies, plus the 50 copies they ordered “just in case.” Maya, a saleswoman at Steimatzksy’s, says that a line of approximately 100 people stretched outside the store beginning at 9:30 Sunday morning. “I had the misfortune of telling many parents, mostly American, that their child would have to wait until Monday to get their copy of the new Harry Potter.” Although no Harry Potter party was held in Jerusalem, excitement to read the new installment of Harry Potter is still in the air. Or maybe it’s just the smell of a rotten egg “Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Bean”. Who knows?

Hebrew readers will have their own Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows this December.
