Paving the Future
As it should be, the up & coming generation has forward vision, futuristic ideas and innovative concepts.
It’s no different in Israel & in yesterday’s 24 Hours Magazine section of the popular Hebrew daily Yediot Ahronot, four just-graduated Israeli artists were profiled as young people to watch based upon their exceptional vision and work. They were interviewed about their views, projects and current trends in commercial versus non-commercial art.
One of the interviewees, graphic artist Oren Weinreich, is the founder of Peles Organization for honest leadership in Israel.
A “Peles” is the level/balance instrument thing a mah jig with a bubble in the center window used when building structures…it ensures that a beam or shelf or (etc) is straight…know what i mean?
Anyhoo, in his role as organization founder Weinreich conceptualized & designed the ‘Stop Lying’ poster campaign against corruption within Israel’s leadership. He used popular children’s fairy tale characters and themes to get his point across.
“It Was an Innocent Kiss”….STOP LYING!

“Over the past year we’ve been exposed to quite a bit of corruption at the hands of our leadership,” Weinreich told press. “We’re all talking about it but nothing is being done to effect change. I decided to found Peles to raise awareness … and create a public outcry.”
His work can be viewed at an open-to-the-public exhibit over the weekend – from July 26-28 – at the Open University’s “Digital Happening” on the Kfar Ha’Yarok Tel Aviv campus. There’ll be a Peles sign-up booth on site.
About time someone took the bull by the horns, eh?
