Fries a la Americain

This is too funny & typifies one of the many ironies a person finds in Israel.

frgdr.com aka “Shahar” is a video and still photo artist with a very impressive blog, photo display and collection of thoughts and commentary. He put up this post about his local supermarket catalog advertisement for the bag of frozen fries seen above.

In Hebrew, the bag sez “American Fries” but in English they’re plain old “French Fries”.

“Fridge” claims the discrepancy is because Israeli consumers are hot for any product labeled “American”..

I don’t necessarily agree with this theory – the people I know like France a whole lot (especially Paris) – but Shahar is Israeli so he knows best about his own countrymen and women, no?

I’m putting in a bid for the more neutral “Freedom Fries” depiction. Here here.
