Visa: DENIED
Life is difficult enough when poverty presses, political strife consumes and times are hard.
But if hardship is your norm and then you’re offered a golden opportunity to get out of the mire for a few short weeks, what a break!
That’s what happened to the Palestine National Youth Football Team. They were scheduled to head off to England for three weeks to play football (i.e. “soccer”, my Yankee brethren), travel, stay in university campus dorms and experience all that comes with foreign jaunts and visiting new terraine.

But the trip was cut short when England’s government denied team members entry Visa’s. The issuing body at hand feared team members’ poverty levels may drive them to seek refuge in England i.e. not return home at the tour’s end.
Read about it here. Appeals are underway but the team probably won’t travel this year; the dorms they were to stay in will soon be inhabited by returning students.
Tks, Yaba Yaba for the lead.

As a Red Sox Fan I have an objection to Citizens of the US being called YANKEES. That aside keep up the good work. Some Day the US maybe an international “Soccer” powerhouse, the furor from Europe will probably rival that for the Iraq war.
