End of An Era

Yesterday’s office places and cafes were a-buzz with chatter and much tongue clucking.

“Can you believe it?” “I’m in shock” “I never thought I’d see the day” “After all those years.” “tsk, tsk, tsk”

Nothing to do with state secrets or deposed prime ministers.

Rami and Rita broke up. After 28 years.

A quickie for the uninitiated: Rami Kleinstein and wife Rita have been at the helm of Israel’s music scene for two decades. A singing, staying-together, making it big partnership. Not anymore.

Newspapers brashly announced news of separate domiciles sprinkled with any lurid details scraped from “sources close to the couple”. Lots of background information on their coupling, marriage and two daughters spread across pages including tidbits on the recent joint lawsuit the couple filed against Helicon Records.

Oh well…sigh. Who wants to volunteer to help them create profiles on J-Date?
