Guess Who’s Back?
Our pal Benji – writer, comedian and now camp counselor extraordinaire – returned from a summer in the U.S. filled to the brim with vim, vigor, a renewed sense of purpose and, if you ask me, too darned much coffee inside him after an 18-hour flight.

But that’s okay. We forgive Benji his trespasses because caffeine + humor + vim & vigor = funny blog entries.
Like this one titled “How I Spent My Summer Vacation” wherein Benji espouses his firm conviction that summer camp serves as an institution influential in shaping identities and characters of young Jewish kids.
But this entry, a bump back in time to Benji’s own youth and his miserable experience as a camper (before “seeing the light”, as it were) is priceless. Check out the letter circa ’84-’85:

Who doesnt’ remember misery followed by such great times that…*sigh* Mine was Habonim’s Tavor. Great memories. Great time. Best summers ever. *sigh*
Welcome back, big B. Don’t let the gever gevers get you down.
