A quick stat to usher in the Jewish New Year:

Israel’s Honey Council (who knew?) claims Israelis will be purchasing 1,500 tons of honey (!) this Rosh Ha’Shanah.

That’s a whole lotta dippin’.

The council says the number is a 5% increase over last year. And apparently, honey consumers are becoming more discerning.

“We see a rise in the consumption of varieties of honey and are witnessing the acquisition of honey directly from producers, from boutique beehives, in addition to purchasing at marketing chains and shops,” Shahar Tene, Honey Council Head told local press.
