She’s Here, There & Everywhere

Okay so Madonna and an entourage of other celebs – Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, Donna Karan & Madonna hubby Guy Ritchie were all here in Israel-land last week for Rosh Ha’Shanah, the Hebrew calendar New Year.

This picture of the Big M meeting with the Big P during her visit is making the rounds on local press sites, in the newspapers, etc..

Hands down, prize for best caption goes to Israellycool: Pop star Madonna stands next to a wax likeness of Shimon Peres on her recent visit to Madame Tussauds, London. I’nt it, just? He looks like an uncomfortable high school kid (with white hair) all weirded out: “I’m standing next to Madonna! The Material Girl! Does my hair look okay? Am I smiling?”

A grand prize also goes to Fox News reporter Scott Heidler for this report on hitting one of his fave Jerusalem haunts Saturday night – the place is called Chakra, no less – and finding himself seated a table over from the Big M. We’ll leave you with a sample…Happy Monday!

…. a few minutes after seeing the audio-wired heavies, I heard a little burst of applause, like someone was celebrating a birthday downstairs. Again not a big thing…until someone at the far end of our table whispered … ‘It’s Madonna.’

OK, all of us here knew she was in town. She has come here a few times over the last several years to visit sights important to a mystical form of Judaism called Kabbalah. I knew she was in Israel for the Jewish New Year, but it was in the back of my head.

So, needless to say, we were distracted during the last two courses of our dinner. Trying to maintain a bit of cool, I spaced out the times I craned my neck to six o’clock to catch a glimpse of the woman who had inspired the ripped shirt and holey stocking look donned by all of the women in my high school in the 1980’s.
