Bar Mitzvah Blues

Move over O.J. – you’ve got competition in Israel.

A Bar Mitzvah boy and his parents were cleaned out of cash and gifts at gunpoint this week when they returned home from the day’s celebrations.

13-year-old Kim Shapira and his parents were pulling up to their Central Tel Aviv flat after a day of Bar Mitzvah fun when a masked, armed robber greeted them curbside. “As I was getting out of the car, this guy with a ski mask approached my husband and started screaming: ‘Give me the checks and the presents!’” Mrs. Shapira told local press.

The husband did as he was told – handing over checks and goods worth tens of thousands of dollars. The thief made a getaway on foot.

Police are investigating and meanwhile, Kim is stuck with nada.

OUCH!

This just in: Liza informs that police are linking this robbery to a similar robbery several weeks ago when thieves broke into a family’s home as they celebrated an event. The event took place at the same reception hall as the above mentioned. Hmmmm….Luckily family #1 lives in a building with closed circuit camera surveillance….MWAHAHAHA!!!!
