STRIKE (*sigh* again)
Looks like yet another strike in the land of Milk n’ Honey. Wouldn’t it be great if it were the Land of Milk Duds instead? Can you imagine? Wow. All that chewy caramel. Dental bills would soar though. I digress.

But I’ll bet high school kids like Milk Duds. And in Israel, high school kids will have plenty of time to pry the sticky caramel out of their teeth because guess what? No school, ma. That’s right. Teacher’s strike. 1700 schools. Mostly high schools. And this could be a long one.
So aside from sitting around jawing Milk Duds what’s a kid to do?
According to one of the Hebrew dailies: community centers will open earlier than usual, after school activities will be moved to morning hours, the national Parents’ Forum is organizing outings, malls are planning special events, state sponsored Educational Television plans to air special programming and if the strike runs over two weeks, the government will arrange fill-in schooling.
Fun, fun, fun. Pass the candy.
