Israel, Environment & the Future
The New York Times recently ran a profile piece on Shai Agassi, a Silicon Valley dwelling Israeli innovator who has plans to take the automotive industry to the next level.
According to the article, Agassi wants to patent/license/build electric vehicle “re-fueling stations” for the cars of the future. His plan for money-making is to model the cars, license the stations and sell the electricity being fueled.
The new system will sell electric fuel on a subscription basis and will subsidize vehicle costs through leases and credits.
“We’re basically saying this is just like the cellular phone model,” he said. “If you think of Tesla as the iPhone, we’re AT&T.”
