Shining Stars

Give it up in a big way for the next generation of filmmakers.

Last night in Hollywood two Israeli high schoolers won top awards at the International Student Film Festival:

Noa Barash of Haifa’s Reali School won Best Foreign Language High School Drama for “15 Minutes” and Daniel Machluf and Shalechet Dizrael of the same high school won Best Foreign Language High School Documentary for “LO-LA/His and Hers ”.

Unfortunately, searches didn’t turn up clips. Know of one? Send a link and we’ll post & credit.

15 Minutes portrays the exchange between an Arab and Jewish family sharing the same bomb shelter while an air raid siren blasts during Lebanon’s War #2. Lo-La follows the life of a young gay Tel Aviv boy who grew up in a religious home.

Wayta go to all involved. Nice start!
