Israel’s Voice…in Berlin
How do Israelis maintain a “piece of home” while living abroad?
Loads of ways. Frequent visits home, stopping by the local felafel stand in NY or Bangkok, catching news on Hebrew Internet sites and in Germany, by listening to “Voice of Berlin” radio in Hebrew.

The program, aired each Friday evening at 17:00 Berlin local (18:00 in Israel), is a way for Israelis living in the massive urban sprawl of one of Europe’s busiest cities to touch base and feel a sense of belonging when longing pangs hit.
Former Israeli radio man Aviv Russ, founder, producer and on-air talent behind the OKB station program, says he got it going two years ago because Berlin is a place that attracts Israelis searching for direction because Berlin is a city that’s still searching for identity.
Okee dokee. If you feel like giving it a listen, check it here.
