Wanted: Quarter Million Shekel Doctors
Israel’s government and the immigration tour de force Nefesh B’Nefesh Organization are joining forces in an effort to bring more MD’s to Israel.
A fresh out of the box campaign marking Israel’s 60th anniversary and designed to encourage Jewish doctors to move to Israel is offering incentive grant and “perks” packages of quarter of a million shekels ($60 thousand approx) for MD’s willing to pack it in and come over.

Absorption Minister Yaakov Edri told Hebrew press that Israel’s doctors are among the highest caliber in the world due largely in part to past immigration waves. “We need to continue encouraging immigration from all over the world to preserve that quality,” Edri was quoted as saying.
While I understand that immigration to Israel is key, might I suggest fostering what you have at home? I.e. offering incentives to promising Israeli students who might want to study medicine so they don’t leave in search of greener pastures?

Umm…who the hell are THESE doctors? I don’t remember my pediatricians looking like this when I was a kid. Time for a check-up.
